I'm looking for the famous ARchitxt font or another decent architecural hand type font. Any recommendations, samples and sources??

Revit, doest not support SHX files, so trying to use the Archtxt font won't work. Revit only supports True type font files. There are a number of websites that you can go to ckeck out fonts and pruchase. http://store.adobe.com/type/main.html www.fonts-online.com www.lineotypes.com http://www.philsfonts.com/otlist.html A good font to use is Graphite® Std Regular, another is Handsf Single. Attached is the ttf file for handsf Single. Try it out if you like.

HANDSFN.TTF

Thanks Arno Handsfn might work.. I'm trying to track down Architxt.ttf which is in some of the annotation families here and was discussed in some older forum links. Even pay sites don't seem have this particular one. I'll keep searching. It is similar to an shx that we use on acad

Architxt.ttf is available and I have it on my computer at home, I will bring it in for you, the only thing it it really does not look like the shx font that I think you are talking about. The Handsf Single font is closer to the Architxt shx that you are talking. Let me know if you still need it.

Do they look, architecturally speaking or are they looking like simple txt from autocad. If they look architecturally speaking I would love to take a look if you don't mind. Thanks

As Arnosandoval has recommended, Handsfn.ttf looks pretty good but I wouldn't mind a copy of architxt.ttf too for comparison. I found the architxt.ttf that looks like simplex from acad also, out in the deep dark crevises of the internet...its scary what you might find out there..

Mtropper, Curious where you able to get the Architext font to work? timOthyj, Is it possible for you to post those two fonts, it's something that I just want some clarification. Thanks in advance.

Try using Stylus BT which is a standard Windows True Type font. You won't have to worry about sending the font with your files to other users. It will give your drawings a hand lettered look and is very legible and free.

Thanks, I am aware of the Stylus BT, it's a nice font, and has worked in the past, but not quite what I'm looking for. Really what I would like to see happen is Revit either accept shx fonts or have them include some Architectural fonts with the software. That is just me.

Just an update. We started to use handsfn.ttf. It seems to do the trick. It looks good but its scale is kind of funky. What ever size you need it needs to be reduced about 75%. Shx would be nice for all of us former Acad junkies..
