IntroductionThis high-quality audio system, protected by a Security Code, consists of an audio section, a CD changer*, a display, a remote control unit (the satellite) and loudspeakers which are arranged and directed to provide optimum sound distribution in the vehicle.
Important- After a break in the power supply (battery disconnected, supply cable cut, etc.), if your radio is in coded mode you must enter the Security Code to be able to use it again (see Entering the code under Security Code). - For safety reasons you are advised not to make adjustments to the set when driving except for those that can be made using the satellite.
Security CodeAs a means of deterrence, your set is delivered to you in coded mode. The Security Code system enables you to lock the set electronically whenever the power supply is cut off (battery disconnected, fuse blown, etc.). The set will then stay silent. To make it operational you must enter the confidential code (4-digit number) of which you are the sole holder. The Security Code is given to you by the supplying Mack Trucks dealer. He has a secure record of this code. Keep a safe note of the code. If you should ever lose it, contact the supplying Mack Trucks dealer.
Entering the code (after a break in the power supply)1. 2. 3. 4. Press the POWER key to switch on the set. CODE and then 0000 will appear in the display. Adjust the flashing digit with the thumbwheel on the satellite. Press the b (the lower key) on the satellite to confirm the digit and move onto the next. When complete press the b key until you hear a bleep to validate the code.

Note: If your vehicle is not fitted with a satellite, the security code must be entered by the keyboard. When the security code has be accepted, the radio displays OTHERS (that means Europe, standard CCIR). - With or or the thumbwhell of the satellite you can display the geographical area: OTHERS, AMERICA, JAPAN, ASIA, ARABIA. - Select the correct area in order to set the appropriate AM and FM bands of the tuner. - Enter your selection by a long press on the key of the radio or on the lower key of the satellite; you hear a validation bleep. - The radio displays then the choice of the vehicle audio correction: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. Select 0. - Proced as for the geo-area. For a vehicle with front loudspeakers = REAR OFF. For a vehicle with front and rear loudspeakers = REAR ON. - Then select rear loudspeakers REAR ON or REAR OFF. - Proced as for geo-area. - After this procedure, your radio plays normaly. The following time you have to enter the code (in case of battery deconnexion) you have not to set again the radio, the radio plays normaly as soon as you have entered the correct security code.
ImportantIf the code entered is incorrect, an error bleep will sound and CODE will appear in the display. You may then re-enter the code following the method described previously, but to do that you must leave the set switched on and wait for one minute before recommencing the operation. If this new attempt is unsuccessful you can repeat the operation, still keeping the set switched on, but the amount of time between each operation (in the event of errors) will increase successively from 1 to 2 to 4 to 8 to 16 to 32 minutes.

Basic OperationPower ON/OFF Press the key.
ON/OFF LogicThe radio can work without starting the vehicle. In this case, it works 20 minutes, then a bleep alerts that it is going to switch off. Press ON/OFF, and the radio will start for 20 minutes again, right after the blup. Otherwise, it will switch off. You can always start it for 20 minutes again.
AudioThe radio will start again with the same volume as before (with a minimum volume of 7 and a maximum of 15). Volume Press the keys on the set or the and on the satellite. The volume of the traffic information can be different from the normal listening and this difference can be saved (see p. 9 Traffic Announcement and News Announcement). The radio is fited with an automatic thermic protection which reduce the audio volume in case of over heating of the radio. To change the other sound settings: 1. Press to enter the sound menu. 2. Press or or on the set or turn the thumbwheel on the satellite to select an option: Bass ................................................................. (low notes) Treble .............................................................. (high notes) Balance ............................................................ (left-right) Fader (if activated in mode Expert) ................. (rear-front) Now EXIT is displayed, and automatic exit out of the audio setting is operated after 2 seconds. 3. Press the keys on the set or the or keys on the satellite to change the chosen option. The set leaves this menu automatically after 4 seconds.
Mute {PAUSE}- Press the key on the satellite to silence the set or simultaneously on the satellite. Press again to cancel. Notes: In the tape/CD or CDC mode playback stops whilst mute is engaged. These is no mute if there is no satellite.

Your radio is factory set for the country of purchase, however if you travel abroad with your vehicle to another continent it is advisable to reset your radio to that continents radio frequency range. Caution: Before commencing with this sequence it is important to ensure that you have the preset code for your radio. If you do not, please ask your dealer to supply you with the code for your radio. 1. Turn off the set. 2. Press keys and simultaneously, whilst pressing these keys switch on the set. For 2 minutes, you will hear a bleep every 3 seconds. CODE and then OOOO will appear in the display then follow the instructions of security code pages 1 and 2.
FM receptionAll you need to know about FM. Compared with your home FM installation, reception on the move involves some restricitions which have nothing to do with the quality of your vehicle audio equipment but are due to the nature of FM signals received in a moving vehicle. 4 1. Distance from the transmitter. 2. Reflection (multipath distortion). 3. Shadow effect. 4. Shadow zone (Valley/Tunnel). 5. Range of FM transmitters. 5A
The RDS systemRDS (Radio Data System) is a system in which inaudible information is transmitted in addition to the normal FM radio signal. This radio uses the RDS information to offer you the following advantages: - Station name display: When an RDS broadcast is received, the display indicates the name of the station instead of the frequency. - Information from other radio stations: EON (Enhanced Other Networks) is an RDS service which links stations in a common network. If you are tuned to a station linked to others by the EON system, this set will enable you to receive traffic information from the station to which you are tuned and from the other stations in the network. - Emergency announcements: In the case that the radio receives an emergency announcement, this will interrupt the cassette or the CD. During the message the display shows ALARM. - Automatic retuning: When the RDS function is activated, the set maintains the best possible reception. It continually checks a list of alternative frequencies broadcasting the same station and automatically selects the best frequency.
Select a Waveband- Press the SRC or the T key once or more than once to select the desired waveband. FM Frequency Modulation AM Amplitude Modulation AM = MW + LW Note: AM an FM are considered as different source like cassette, CD player or CD changer.

Tuning to a stationThere are 3 methods that are shown in the display which determine how you access a station on either waveband: Activate a search up or down the frequencies until you reach the desired station. - Man - Preset 6 stations defined by you, after having activated a search and memorised on the keys 1-6. - List Searches and stores up to 50 stations so that they can be accessed in alphabetical order.
