Eight years after launching Origin, EA is about to return to Steam.

In this redux, I take another look at the sequel to Mass Effect, but this time I'm also taking a look at the major DLC's released for it after I talk about the main game: the Cerberus Network DLC. If you bought ME2 on steam, you won't have to use origin to play the dlc's. As far as the DLC goes, you just have to log in to your ea/bioware account for a one time verification that you own the DLC you have installed. As for purchasing the DLC for PC, you go directly to Bioware's website to purchase the DLC.

EA tweeted a clip of a cup with steam coming out of it. I see what you did there, EA!

The tweet comes a few days after Twitter user @RobotBrush discovered a test application for running Origin games on Steam. The suggestion is EA will let people buy and run its games through Valve's rival PC platform, but you'll still need to use the Origin launcher.

looks like EA are indeed getting ready to come back to steam

EA launched Origin back in the summer of 2011 and caused quite the kerfuffle as it subsequently pulled Crysis 2 from Steam and then did not release Battlefield 3 there. Since then, every first-party game EA has published on PC is exclusive to Origin.

If EA is returning to Steam, we could see the likes of FIFA and Star Wars Jedi - Fallen Order sold there. Or perhaps Steam users will get some legacy EA titles, such as Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2.

I recently bought Mass Effect 2 off of Steam when EA had their week of sales.I bought the standard version of the game. Upon installing and launching the game Steam had told me that the game required additional keys for DLC that was purchased with my game this was a pleasant surprise as I was not aware that it came with DLC. So I hit the keys it said would bring up the extra keys and entered them when prompted. I did not have a Bioware account at the time so I created one just as I was instructed to do. I have since beaten the game on the normal difficulty setting and the Cerberus network computer comes up on the main menu however my DLC does not seem to be active in the game. Is there any way I can fix this for my second play through?
